Our History
Double A was founded in 1965 about a mile outside of Delphos, Ohio by Ambrose A. Wannemacher as a dealer of Great Dane trailers. Due to increased business, in 1972, Mr. Wannemacher moved operations to our current location, 1750 East Fifth Street, Delphos, Ohio. The new location was expanded to provide a repair and maintenance facility, parts department, sales team, and corporate offices. Throughout the 70s, Double A grew into one of Great Dane’s major independent dealers.
During the 80s, we increased business with Great Dane, and joined the Dorsey Trailers, Inc. organization, where we became a “Top 10” distributor, and eventually the “#1 Dorsey Distributor”. In 1988, A.A. Wannemacher retired, at which time his son, Mark, took over as manager. We had continued success with Dorsey Trailers, Inc. and eventually joined Trailmobile, and became a multi-dealership, which provided a dual avenue for meeting supply and demand.
Sadly, the spring of 1994 brought the passing of the founder, A.A. Wannemacher, and his wife Coletta. Prior to his passing, A.A. Wannemacher transitioned the company control, which allowed us to continue to prosper. Over the years, we continued to expand our repair and maintenance facility, parts department, and eventually added parts delivery vans to further provide excellent service to our customers. As a consequence of Dorsey Trailers, Inc. financial problems, we ceased its 17 year dealership and expanded our sales department to include Reitnouer, Vanguard and Manac. As of November 1, 2021, Double A is proudly announcing the addition of UtilityTrailer Manufacturing Company. Our dealership currently represents Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, Reitnouer and Manac.

Since the start of Double A Trailer Sales, Inc., we have been family owned and operated, with Mark Wannemacher and his daughter Leann overseeing company operations and sales. The family takes pride in continuing a customer-oriented business established by A.A. Wannemacher in 1965.
